Crucible Membership

The Crucible is a members-only organization. Almost all events are members only. Membership allows you to attend events at the club as well as bring one guest with you.
To become a member, sign up online and check in with the membership table when you next come in to pay for your membership and get your membership card.

Security at The Crucible

We have had several reports of credit cards and other valuables being taken from our coat room, which as you know, is unattended. We encourage you to check your accounts for unusual or suspicious activity. We also encourage you to keep your wallet with you in the club. We are adding additional lockers to provide more secure storage options; please plan to bring your own lock.

Dungeon 101

Are you new to BDSM, public play, or The Crucible?
Dungeon 101 is The Crucible’s monthly outreach night, designed to help you feel at ease as you explore public play. Dungeon 101 is open to anyone 18 or older who is interested in learning more about BDSM and The Crucible.
All attendees must show a government-issued photo ID.
This is an 18+ event and no alcohol is sold or permitted.
To foster a learning environment, sex is not allowed for the duration of the event.
No advance tickets are necessary or available, admission is at the door ($25 for Crucible members, $35 for non-members, $10 with Gateway card).

Covid-19 Policy

Beginning January 2, 2024, The Crucible will no longer require proof of covid-19 vaccination.
We encourage individuals to make sure they are up-to-date with their boosters per CDC guidelines. As always, if you have symptoms of covid-19 or other airborne illnesses, please stay home. Individuals who wish to wear masks in the club are of course welcome to do so. If you have any questions about this policy, please reach out to info@the-crucible.com.

  • Dungeon 101

    Dungeon 101 serves as an introduction into public BDSM play. If you have never attended a public BDSM play event, it can be a bit daunting. The Dungeon 101 class is specifically designed to make you feel comfortable at your first public BDSM dungeon event. Attendees and presenters come from a diverse cross section of the community, all orientations, genders and kinks are welcome. You are welcome to come alone, bring a friend or bring a bunch of friends.

    From 7:30 until 8:00 PM will be social time. Starting at 8:00 PM, there will be a talk on scene etiquette and an opportunity to learn about the dungeon itself. Directly following will be a "Exploratorium" event until 11:00 PM where you can try and/or experience many different kinds of play scenes. The idea is for it to be a fun evening for everyone!

    No advance tickets are available for this event -  please plan to arrive early and pay at the door.

    $10 with Gateway card,
    $25 members with membership card,
    $35 all others

    More experienced folk come on out after 11:00 PM for Open Play. We ask that everyone except presenters keep their toy bags put away until Open Play starts to avoid confusion. No scenes or play permitted during the Exploratorium.

    This is an outreach event, you do not need to be a BR or Crucible member to attend.

    In order to foster a learning environment, there is no sex allowed at Dungeon 101, and no alcohol is sold. This applies all night, even during open play after the Exploratorium has concluded.

    You must be at least 18 years of age. Government-issued photo ID required for entry.

  • Sinfully Naughty (21+)

  • Hitchin' Bitches

    Hitchin' Bitches is for women and non-binary folks interested in tying, being tied and who self-tie. Men may accompany attendees as bottoms, but may not tie or participate in any discussions other than as bottoms. Men are only allowed at the invitation of an attending top.

    MATRIARXY is a play-party and mixer for Dommes, Alpha femmes and all who adore and admire us.

    More than just an event; we are a movement, cultivating a vibrant community rooted in respect, consent and the joyful expression of femme sovereignty.

    •    MATRIARXY with an “X” intentionally and explicitly invites and affirms all femme-aligned identities, not limited to binary definitions of gender, to embrace and express their dominance.
    •    Femme sovereignty meaning – femmes (women and femme-aligned individuals) are recognized as the rightful leaders and curators of the space.

    MATRIARXY is for:

    •    Experienced Dommes and Alpha femmes seeking a high-energy playground
    •    New and emerging Dommes and Alpha femmes ready to explore and express their power
    •    Submissives and bottoms of all varieties seeking to socialize and play with Dommes and Alpha femmes

    MATRIARXY key rules:

    This is an all-inclusive space for all genders and queer sexualities for folks to meet new people, socialize, and play. Bring your best self and leave judgments at the door.

    This is an 18+ party. Alcohol will not be served.

    This event is for queers of all kinds and kinks, no matter your experience level. We want to smash gatekeeping and create a welcoming space for folks to explore themselves.

  • Crucible Rope: Bondage for Sex
    February 14, 2026  1:00 pm - 6:00 pm

    This class will build on previous classes using single and double column ties along with a few new ties. We will focus on tying up a partner to have sex with them. We will be demonstrating a few of these ties. We will set aside some time for suggestions and questions from attendees for particular scenarios they would like to see neatly tied up. As always, we have rope to share, if needed, supplies are limited. We are recommending 2-3x 50 ft pieces & 3-4x 25 ft pieces -or- 6-8x 30 ft pieces.

    REMINDER: DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF MATERIAL REQUIRED TO BE COVERED FOR THIS CLASS, WE WILL BE CLOSING ADMITTANCE TO CLASS AT 2:00PM. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.

  • RISQUE (21+)

    RISQUÉ is a monthly BDSM play party with music provided by the area’s hottest EDM DJs.

    RISQUÉ is primarily a BDSM play party, designed to create a fun, comfortable space for members already well versed in the scene, as well as providing a safe and respectful environment for newcomers that are not only watch, but join in and learn at their own pace and comfort level. If you’re currently into, or would like to learn more about Bondage, Discipline, Domination, Submission, Sadism and/or Masochism, we have experienced players in the fields of Flogging, Rope, Fire Fleshing and/or Cupping, Needles, Knives, and much more every single month for your enjoyment.

    As much as RISQUÉ is a play party, it is also a club night, so we feature a diverse variety of Electronic Dance Music, no matter if you’re into industrial, synthpop, EDM, house, electro, D&B, dubstep, or just about anything else, our DJs will be sure to get you moving. And of course, if there is someone you would like to spin, we’re always taking staffing requests.

    RISQUÉ is a dress to impress party, however rest assured that nudity is always welcomed and accepted. Additionally, each month RISQUÉ will follow a new theme that you can dress up for and find new ways to enjoy yourself. Please see our event pages for details and suggestions.

    “Sapphic” is for femmes attracted to other femmes whether they identify as lesbian, bisexual, queer, trans, or any diverse identity falling within the spectrum of same-sex femme attractions representing an identity, an aesthetic, and a celebration of diverse experiences and connections of femme presenting folx and feminine energy. 

     The Sapphic aesthetic affirms the unique experiences and relationships of female-identifying genders who love femmes and feminine energy.

    Black and Kinky at The Crucible is a space for all experience levels and interest in kink. We focus on building community, education and play in the largest kink event in DC that centers, celebrates and honors the rich diversity and contributions of Black and Brown kinksters. Our gathering aims to create a safe and welcoming space for all participants, with a strong focus on ensuring the safety, honored consent, and positive experiences of Black and Brown attendees.
